Culinary Symbiosis
Collaboration Project
For Culinary Symbiosis, we led the concept, writing, direction and production of a collaboration between two worlds that rarely meet in this way: fine dining and landscape architecture. Noemi Bernard, Michelin-starred chef at Restaurant Sternen Walchwil, and Jan Hauser, landscape architect and outdoor designer, came together to explore how their disciplines speak the same language through space, material, composition and restraint. Our role was to shape this meeting into a visual story — one that does not explain too much, but lets the viewer feel the connection between a plate, a room and the hands behind both.
Our approach was built around the idea that cooking and designing a landscape follow the same quiet logic: choosing what belongs, leaving out what does not, and giving every element the right place. Visually, we moved between dark, atmospheric moments inside the restaurant, close details of ingredients, textures and hands, and the more open language of garden and material design.
Jan and Noemi were not treated as two separate characters, but as two perspectives inside one concept. The plate became a landscape. The garden became a composition. And through this, the film found its rhythm: calm, precise and full of tension before the final reveal.
